“Egypt Air Failed to Accept Full Responsibility”: Family of Late Nigerian Student Travelling to London for Studies Plans Burial, Criticizes Egypt Air

The family of the young Nigerian lady who died while on a flight to London for studies has revealed her burial date, while also tackling Egypt Air for failing to take full responsibility for her demise.

The young lady, Remilekun Toyosi Meshioye, 41, died onboard Egypt Air in Cairo on her way to London to further her studies. The family confirmed that her body will be brought back to Lagos on Wednesday, October 18. 

This disclosure was made on X (formerly Twitter) by the head of media, public relations and protocols of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abdur-Rahman Balogun on Monday, October 16.

According to the sister of the deceased, Lola Olaniyi-Alabi, she noted that the family decided to repatriate the body of their late sister for burial rites at home after Egypt Air management refused to accept full responsibility for what happened to its passenger.

Late Remilekun Toyosi Meshioye left Nigeria for London on board Egypt Air MS 876 flight to Cairo on Monday, September 4, through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, when she died on board.

A source from the family revealed that after her death, the corpse was dropped in Cairo, the Capital City of Egypt, by the airline.
