The $3 million Mercedes Benz AMG One was first revealed in 2017 at the International Mobility Show in Germany.

The vehicle was conceived as a halo hybrid hypercar with technology derived from Formula 1. It took a while before Mercedes began production for the vehicle, and only 275 models of the AMG One are being produced.

However, the vehicle will not be driven in America as car experts note that the Mercedes-AMG could not comply with US road standards without compromising the car’s performance.
The vehicle produces 1,049 horsepower from the combination of a 1.6-liter V6 engine and four electric motors; AMG managed to surpass the 1,000-horsepower mark, which is remarkable for a car the brand claims can be driven for around 11 miles on electric power alone.
Now, with this horsepower, the AMG One is set to challenge vehicles like the Koenigsegg, McLaren, and Ferrari.
When Was The Mercedes-AMG ONE Produced?
The vehicle was originally intended to come out in 2019, as the Mercedes-AMG ONE’s original release date has long come and gone. It’s finally in production form and was seen in public for the first time at the Festival of Speed at Goodwood in June 2022.
Mercedes also noted that the AMG ONE wouldn’t be sold here due to the strict US road standards. Doing so would’ve required too much compromise regarding the car’s overall performance and driving character.
The Engine Of The Mercedes-AMG ONE
The 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine with F1-derived technology and four electric motors produces 1,049 hp. Due to the complex nature of the powertrain, the manufacturer says that it’s not possible to determine a combined torque output.
The vehicle’s drive system comprises variable AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive with an electrically-driven front axle, torque vectoring, and a hybrid-drive rear axle. Paired with an automated seven-speed manual transmission, performance is awesome. The AMG ONE will reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.9 seconds, 124 mph (200 km/h) in seven seconds dead, and 186 mph (300 km/h) in 15.6. The top speed is just over 218 mph.
