“Na good governance Abia State needs no be SUV. Abia needs help, not these ones.” This was one of the comments under the post of Cubana Chiefpriest a few hours ago after he shared a video notifying the general public that he will be giving out an SUV to one Abia youth this Saturday.
His caption read, “This Saturday, I’ll be giving out one of these SUVs to a random Abia Youth at Ngwa High School Osisioma Aba Abia State at the declaration of Engr. Nana & @chimaanyaso. We are fully outside for @nanaofuji2023. It’s Youth o’clock make we burst everywhere.”
Cubana Chiefpriest’s post is evidently politically motivated. Indeed, giving out cars, money, food items and provision of other basic amenities is a very common political and pre-election campaign practice in the Nigerian poltical scene.

Certainly, this SUV that’ll be given out to one youth in Aba, Abia State won’t be the last of all the cars that’ll be gifted to different people as the election gets even closer. Another good example is the fleet of 60 cars the Bauchi State Governor donated to critical stakeholders ahead of the election.
More cars will be coming soon for more people as the electron gets closer. But, following the comment on Cubana ChiefPriest’s post, will sharing cars by politicians solve the decadence in Nigeria?
