Who ever thought there would be a time when the car market’s interest would be diverted towards cars like this McLaren Elva? No roof, understandable but no windshield? No one knew.

But, this McLaren Elva supercar is expected to fetch almost $3 million at an auction.
The car has only 149 samples ever made, and this car is one of them. What makes the car even more unique is its chromatic colour.
This chromatic colour is referred to as the Pacific Color Stream; the car has blue, purple, and orange tones, making it look completely different depending on the angle you look at it from.

This particular car is unit 122 or 149. It comes with a bespoke carbon fibre body with dihedral doors that make it stand out (if it didn’t already).
It also has quad exhausts, with two pointing backward and two pointing towards the sky. This placement gives the car an incredible and unique frequency of sound.
McLaren notes that the shape of the Elva was carved by the wind, “created to deliver a driving experience of exhilarating purity.”
McLaren Elva Engine & Design
The Elva is McLaren’s lightest production car, weighing less than 1198kg, which means it is lighter than the Ferrari Monza 2.
The supercar is powered by a 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 that delivers more than 800 hp.
The lightweight, open-roofed, mid-engined McLaren is famous for its no-windshield design.
The interesting this about its no-windshield design is that McLaren got you covered on that.
They did that with the unique technology called the Active Air Management System, which channels air over the top of the cockpit when driving.
McLaren hasn’t forgotten driver luxuries either, with form-fitting carbon fibre seats and Ultrafabric materials fitted throughout the cabin.
The auction is set to take place at Mecum Auctions, and they’ve noted that the car is expected to sell for between $2.6 million and $2.75 million.
The Elva retailed for $1.69 million when it was released. So, this auction price is a high asking price. But given its uniqueness, there might be someone at the auction who might afford the price.
