A popular Ghanaian content creator, Kobe Boujee, has revealed why Ghana has fewer Lamborghinis than Nigeria. He referenced a trending video featuring a well-known luxury car dealer based in Dubai, who was asked why Nigerians own more Lamborghinis than Ghanaians.
The answer is quite simple the Dubai based luxury car dealer said: Nigeria’s GDP is six times higher than Ghana’s, and its population is seven times larger. In Lagos, Nigeria, you can frequently see luxury cars on the streets. However, in Ghana, it’s much more challenging to spot high-end vehicles like the Lamborghini Urus. Instead, you are more likely to encounter Maybachs or even some Rolls Royces.
The reasoning is straightforward: a larger population and a higher GDP lead to more wealthy individuals, which contributes to more Lamborghinis on the roads. To summarize, according to Forbes, Nigeria has four billionaires, while Ghana reportedly has none. This might upset many Ghanaians, but the dealer’s statement was based on information he found online, which indicated that Ghana lacks billionaires, while Nigeria has three.

What Ghana has are numerous “semi-millionaires,” and there is a notable difference. This is surprising, especially given the flashy lifestyles advertised in the country. Many might be curious as to how Ghana has no billionaires despite this.
However, I don’t fully agree with the idea of equating Lamborghini ownership to GDP. There are certainly individuals in Ghana who own cars that are even more expensive than Lamborghinis, but they often choose not to drive them due to the poor condition of our roads.
