Regularly Washing Of Your Car

This seems like an obvious thing, but you would be surprised how many people don’t wash their cars on a regular basis. Washing of car is the most basic car care. Washing your car removes specks of dust, grime and dirt that make it look old. Cleaning the windscreen and mirrors increase visibility and prevent accidents.

Also, scrub the tires and hubcaps thoroughly to make it clean. When cleaning the body of the car, use a soft towel to mop it so as to prevent scratches. Always wash your vehicle frequently.

Remember To Clean The Interior, Too

Keeping your car looking brand new involves more than just making the exterior looks good. You must also pay attention to the interior of your car.

Regularly clean the insides of the window and windshield. Wipe the dashboard, clean the seats, centre console, and seat belts and also wash the floor mats in the car. Use a vacuum or broom to sweep and clear dirt in your car’s interior. The best way to maintain your car interior is to do a quick cleaning of any trash each time you exit your car.

Use protective sprays too, to keep your seats in good shape.

Keep Your Cars In Your Garage

If you have a garage, park your cars in it every day. This will protect your car from elements and animals (most especially cats) won’t be able to hide under your car and inside your car engine.

Ensure the garage is clean enough and dust-free too. It will make it easier to wash your car whenever you have an outing.

Use A Car Cover

If you don’t have a garage, a car cover is another option for you. If you have to park your car outside, a car cover will prevent it from dirt, sunlight, damage and even scratches most kids on the streets might just pick up any sharp objects and start scratching your car, this I have witnessed several times but with the help of the car cover all this won’t occur. Keeping your car out of reach of sunlight, trees and birds can help your paint and interior remain in good condition. To keep your car looking its best for year to come, a cover is a good investment.

Vehicle Maintenance Tips

While you keep your car neat, remember other vital parts of your vehicle maintenance checklist.

  • Thoroughly inspect your serpentine belts and check for wear. If those belts fail, it can cause damage to the engine parts, making a small-priced item turn into a huge bill.
  • Check your car battery. You should clean the terminal with a battery cleaning brush if needed and always apply dielectric grease to help it stay corrosion-free.
  • Inspect fluid and tyre pressure regularly. The pressure isn’t something you should ignore or delay because tyres are one of the most important components of your car for efficiency, safety and comfort. Learn to conduct an inspection on tyres and fluids before setting out on a journey.
  • Check your air filter. Some problems are due to clogged air filters. The air filter prevents dirt and particles from entering the engine. You should get your filters changed every 12 months or after every 15000 miles. Don’t ignore this as it could lead to problems with your car engine.
  • Get your tyres rotated and balanced
  • Change your spark plugs regularly

Maintaining your car is a good idea for your wallet, time and peace of mind.
