Finally, a new Ranger has arrived in town. The T6-generation midsize pickup has been on the market in Australia and other markets for more than 11 years, and Ford is finally replacing it. The new truck hides quite a few key changes beneath its oh-so-familiar exterior, adopting an evolutionary design with a Maverick-Esque front fascia and C-shaped LED headlamps.
Three turbodiesel engines are available for the worldwide model, including a V6 and two 4-cylinder variants. A 2.3L EcoBoost gas four-cylinder engine is also available. There will be three transmissions available: a 6-speed manual, an automatic, and a 10-speed automatic. A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is on its way.
In addition, the new frame moved the wheels forward for better approach angles. There are also two 4WD systems, one of which is more reactive and the other of which is always on. A new interior features a 10.1- or 12-inch infotainment system, off-road screens, a digital dash, OTA updates, and much more.

The availability of the new Ranger will be market-dependent, as not all powertrains will be available in the 180+ countries where the Dearborn manufacturer aims to sell the new Ranger. There will be a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic with the same number of gears, as well as the latest 10-speed automatic, depending on the engine fitted under the hood.
Lastly, the next-generation Ranger will serve as the framework for the new Amarok, which will be revealed later this year.
