Ford has pulled the wraps off of the all new F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck, The name comes from the original F150 SVT Lightning though this is a massive spin on that. The design is very F150 though now sports a closed grill area, connect LED head and taillights, and smoother panels and wheels. Ford understands exactly what American auto buyers want, and it’s the F-series. It’s hoping that the F-150 Lightning, the new electric version of the best-selling vehicle in America for 39 years, will have what it takes to convince more people to switch to an electric vehicle.
The All New 2020 F-150 comes with a Standard 230mile battery pack while the Extended Range gets 300 miles. Dual motor AWD is standard making 426HP in the Standard Range and 563HP in the Extended Range while both make 775 lb-ft of torque and both can power your home in a blackout for 3 full days. 0-60 happens around 4.5sec. Ford said a Twi or Quad motor is in the pipeline. It only can do 150kW DC fast charging.
Ford has fitted a liquid cooling system for the batteries and a metal exoskeleton protects the battery. The numbers are impressive too: 5,000lbs of towing in standard form or 7,700 with a tow pack while the extended range can tow 10,000lbs.

It won’t go on sale until next spring. The taillights also have a connecting light bar, but only on the higher trims. The F-150 Lightning is only available as a SuperCrew model with a 5.5-foot box, and it’s an inch longer and 1.7 inches taller than the similarly equipped gas F-150.
