A Look Into How This World’s Rarest Ferrari Supercar Gets Additional Detailing

No matter how much you know about Ferrari’s supercars, there’s the possibility that you might have never heard of the Ferrari P4/5. Why is that? Because it is a rare type of Ferrari you don’t just find anywhere.

It is so rare that Ferrari didn’t even know about it until the vehicle was out of production. It is the rarest Ferrari and the most unique street-legal Ferrari worldwide.

The car’s owner is the car collector and race car team owner Jim Glickenhaus, who also built the car.

Although he drives it daily, the vehicle has not been washed or detailed in two to three years. So, he decided to spray wax it. But it hadn’t been detailed or had its paint corrected for several years.

A Look At The Exterior Of The Ferrari P4/5

First, the exterior had to be washed to blow off the dirt and dust lying on the vehicle. The car was then covered in snow foam, then they started cleaning the wheels before washing the paint and getting at the tight areas with a brush. After that, the next task was to clean the engine.

The Interior Cleaning Of The Ferrari P4/5

The interior only has a small cockpit, so it didn’t take too long to fix up before the paint correction process started. 

The paint correction involved machine polishing the paintwork and machine polishing the vast amounts of carbon fibre, with the same steps repeated on small carbon fibre interior elements, too.

Afterwards, they gave the vehicle another coat of snow foam and a pressure wash to clear off any compound dust and oils that may have been collected.

Later, it was given a coating of enamel protection applied to the paintwork, a two-man job.

In general, it took two days before it was fully detailed, and the results of the car are exceptional.
