It has been 10 weeks since Miss Pelumi Nubi drove from London to Lagos, becoming the first black woman to solo drive on that route. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu surprised her with generous gifts upon completion of the event, earning him praise from many.
The governor gifted Pelumi Nubi a brand-new GAC SUV, and an apartment, and settled all her bills related to the trip. In addition, he named her the ambassador of Lagos state tourism. The video of this gesture has generated positive reactions from Nigerians.
According to Goldmynetv, Pelumi Nubi is now the brand new ambassador of Lagos, receiving a brand new car from Governor Sanwo-Olu. She also received a new home in Lagos, a customized plate number, and is donating the vehicle she used for the trip to the J Randle Center for Yoruba Culture and History as a gift to Lagos State.
