BYD, a Chinese rival of Tesla, has recently launched its latest electric vehicle, the Yangwang U9, at a price tag of $234,000. This two-door coupe boasts an impressive 1,287 horsepower and 1,200 lb-ft of torque from its four electric motors and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.36 seconds, outperforming iconic supercars like the Ferrari SF90, Bugatti Chiron, and Porsche 911 Turbo S.
The U9 has several unique features, such as its ability to jump, shake, and dance to four different “dance mode” songs, as well as self-parking capabilities due to its advanced driver-assistance system, DiPilot ADAS.
BYD claims that the U9 can reach a top speed of 309.19 kph (192.12 mph), and it can accelerate to 100 kph within 2.36 seconds. According to the company’s website, this is comparable to supercars produced by long-established brands like Ferrari, whose hybrid SF90 Stradale model can accelerate to 100 kph in 2.5 seconds.
