In a recent video that surfaced online, the outgoing Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, was spotted as he alighted the Presidential plane.
The Presidential plane is the assigned jet for the Nigerian President, and it’s a customized Boeing 737NG BBJ (Boeing Business Jet). The private jet is nicknamed “Eagle One,” and the maintenance of this jet is the responsibility of the Nigerian Air Force.
According to reports, an order for the Eagle One was placed in June 2005, and it was delivered to the Nigerian Air Force on 14th July 2005.

This Eagle One complies with the EU noise regulations and can land in all countries, unlike the one that was used by the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo.
As a custom-built aircraft, the Eagle One has additional fuel tanks for an extended intercontinental range.
According to the budget, the Nigerian Government set out N73.3 billion for maintenance, utility, training, and insurance of the Eagle One from 2011 to 2020. Under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, a budget of N18 billion was set out for the maintenance of the aircraft.
This presidential plane seats 25 to 50 passengers, and it comes with luxurious configurations like a master bedroom, a washroom with showers, a conference/dining area, and a living area.
