A Nigerian man caused a commotion when his altercation with a VIO officer was captured on film and went viral on the internet.
In the video, a resident of Lagos can be seen approaching VIO authorities, who are responsible for prosecuting drivers who break laws on traffic regulations.
The concerned witness approached the officer who was driving the patrol van and asked him about his explanations for defying the same traffic law that he fines other road users for breaking.

The VIO officer’s response was to make an excuse about how he and his team were involved in a special task that prevented them from using a seat belt.
He said that the mission was extremely important to them.
