Before now, there were some speculations around the new Mazda release. But now, the brand has cleared all speculations by stating exactly what the car will be.

The new Mazda coming soon is the Mazda MX-5 fifth-generation; it won’t be fully an electric car but a hybrid. The Mazda MX-5 is an icon, and it is also the best-selling convertible in the world.

Before this new release, there have been four previous generations of the MX-5, and this one currently coming is the Mazda MX-5 fifth generation vehicle.

While Mazda has revealed the vehicle will be a hybrid, the brand is quite concerning other details that will come with the car.

The MX-5 is a lightweight sports car and therefore doesn’t need a big engine. This suggests that Mazda might be able to give it hybrid power, combining a small, high-performance gas engine with an electric motor.

The fourth generation Mazda MX-5 comes with a 2.0-litre engine that produces 180 horsepower and goes from 0-60mph in only 6.5 seconds.

There’s the possibility that the brand will replace this engine with a smaller one and extract perhaps 200+ horsepower with the addition of an electric unit.

These possible additions will give the car a greater performance figure while also reducing emissions to comply with emission regulations.

According to Mazda’s Director, Yasuhiro Aoyama, he said, “there will be some kind of electrification.” However, he also added the company “will not betray our fan’s expectations.”

The all-new, fifth-generation Mazda MX-5 is expected to arrive in 2026.

The Mazda MX-5(also known as “Miata”) was first launched in 1989. It is the best-selling convertible in history, with more than 1.1 million units of it delivered as of January 2022.

The Lotus Elan loosely inspires the vehicle, the MX-5 has always relied on agility rather than sheer power to deliver fun and performance.
