This car is the N Vision 74 sports car that’s been unveiled at the Busan international Motor Show, where the company will be giving viewers a glimpse at what a hydrogen-powered sports car will look like.
But, it’s important to note that the unveiling is only for the concept design, and from the looks and features, it looks like many cannot wait to see what the production version of the car will look like.
What’s The Vision Behind The Vision 74?
The N Vision 74 design is meant to invoke the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe concept. Designed by the famous Italian automotive designer Giorgetto Giugiaro—he drew up the DeLorean DMC-12, the concept was arguably the first Korean vehicle to really draw international interest.
So, in building a DeLorean-like sports car today, Hyundai is making the move back in time to channel a lineage that goes back to 1974.
What To Know So Far About N Vision 74 Sports Car
The N Vision 74 Sports car is a cool-looking prototype that has also been projected to go from 0 mph to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds with a range in excess of 370 miles.
Hydrogen-powered vehicles are being a tough sell in the industry, so there’s really little expectation of the production version in the near future. However, Hyundai is planning on running a working prototype at the world-famous Nürburgring to demonstrate its hydrogen prowess.
The N Vision 74 will hopefully join Hyundai’s performance-based N models, which are lauded for enthusiasts who crave high performance. Models such as the Veloster N, Kona N, and ElANTRA n—all of which are currently on sale—have a little kick in the form of extra power, beefed-up brakes and sportier interiors.
The N Vision 74 is not the only Hyundai getting the performance-oriented N badge. Hyundai has announced that the all-electric Ioniq 5 N will debut for 2023.
Conclusion
If not for the hydrogen bit of the N Vision 74, the car would have become a pace-setting electric sports car. Even if the car stops after this concept design, it’s still a testament of the range Hyundai possesses in the industry.
