The South Korean automobile giant KIA introduced the Forte as an economically priced four-door compact sedan that was also offered as a two-door coupe in 2010. The forte has different names it is called depending on the country; it is known as the K3 in South Korea, the Forte K3 or Shuma in China and Cerato in South America is since mid-2008 to replace the Kia Cerato/Spectra. In 2011, Kia introduced a four-door hatchback version of the Forte which came in a six-speed automatic transmission and offered three trim levels ranging from LX, EX and SX shows off an affordable, well-equipped car. KIA presented the Forte as a sizable, roomy, classy and standard convenience lineup.

The 2011 Forte sedans have great features such as dual 12-volt power outlets, Bluetooth connectivity, tilt steering column and sound system providing auxiliary as well as USB connections for MP3 players. The Forte transmissions include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission that delivers a fuel mileage EPA estimated range of 23 mpg city to 37 mpg highway, depending on engine and transmission selection. The Forte 2013 with 3 trims (Sedan 4D EX 14, Sedan 4D LX 14, Sedan 4D SX14) also came with an improved standard power-folding exterior mirror with the base Forte powered by the standard 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that produces 156 hp and 144 lb-ft of torque with the optional 2.4-litre 4-cylinder engine that yields 173 hp and 168 lb-ft of torque.

The transmissions consist of a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission that guaranty’s an EPA estimated range of 23 mpg city to 37 mpg highway, depending on engine and transmission selection. The Forte 2014 engines came with the standard 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine that produces 148 hp while offering shoppers the option of a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that yields 173 hp. Transmissions came in both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission.

The EPA estimated the range of 24 mpg city to 37 mpg highway, depending on engine and transmission selection. It has 4 trims FE, GT, GT-Line, and LXS. The 2015 Forte model comes in four trims: Sedan 4D EX I4, Sedan 4D EX Premium I4, Sedan 4D LX I4, Sedan 4D LX Popular I4 which is available as a sedan, coupe, or hatchback for the EX and LX. It retains standard LX engine is a 1.8-litre four-cylinder that produces 148 horsepower and 131 pound-feet of torque with an option for upgrading to a more powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 173 hp and 154 lb-ft of torque.

It also came with the unique Uvo entertainment systems which include: remote start and remote entry, backup camera, LED tail lamps, satellite radio, and touch-screen, climate control (two-zone with rear vents), xenon headlamps, heated and powered seats that are ventilated, etc. The 2016 Forte with 5 trims came with an upgraded infotainment system that includes: HD radio, GPS, two-zone climate control with rear vents, Bluetooth/iPod/USB integration, 60/40 splitting, and folding rear seating, and a basic audio system. Add-ons offer things like LED tail lamps and LED running lights, premium leather upholstery, and more. It has a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine that makes 145 horsepower and 130 pound-feet of torque.

The 2017 model even with its 7 trims has just a few upgrades as well as the same for other year models while offering upgrades as an option in other trim variants. 2018 has 3 trims (EX, LX, and S), 2019 model has 4 trims (EX, FE, LXS, and S) while 2020 has 7 trims- LX Manual, LX IVT, GT-Line IVT, S IVT, X-Line IVT, EX IVT, and GT-Line Turbo DCT.
