The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu commissioned the Onikan Multi-Storey car park yesterday in an attempt to tackle the never-ending traffic jam on Lagos Island.
Sanwo-Olu stated that the facility which was designed in 2013 will service the renovated Onikan Stadium and other primary social centres such as Island Club, Yoruba Tennis Club, Lagos Lawn Tennis Club and other facilities in the neighbourhood and fix packing requirements generated by these centres.
The building has five car parking floors that can have hold about 384 vehicles with offices for tickets and restrooms on each floor. It also has a 6th floor which can be used for different purposes and it contains:
