Land Rover has made improvements to their plug-in hybrid Range Rover variant, resulting in a name change from P440e to P550e. The new P550e model now produces a combined power output of 542 horsepower, up from the previous 434 horsepower. This increase in power is achieved by introducing a new 215-horsepower electric motor that complements the existing 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine.

Inside also gets an updated Pivi Pro infotainment system. Dynamic Response Pro, which debuted on the Range Rover Sport, offers better roll control during cornering. There also is an updated off-road adaptive cruise system. Then comes the new SV Bespoke commissioning service allowing customers to build their own Range Rover down to the finer details with 391 colours for materials, 230 paint options, custom graphics, and even metals like gold too.
According to Land Rover‘s claims, the P550e can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds, which is an improvement of 0.4 seconds compared to the previous model. While the 2023 plug-in model was said to have a range of 51 miles on electric power, there is no information available yet regarding the range of the 2024 model.
It appears that the P550e variant is exclusive to the Autobiography trim level, meaning it will only be offered with the highest trim option. The base SE model will no longer offer the P440e powertrain in the United States.
Additionally, the V-8 P530 Range Rover, which is available in both the SE and Autobiography trims, will now feature a 48-volt hybrid system similar to the six-cylinder models, aiming to enhance fuel efficiency.
The 2024 Range Rover will start at $108,750 for the SE model with the P400 six-cylinder powertrain. Stepping up to the P530 sees the price skyrocket to $131,750, while the same powertrain in the Autobiography trim is $167,750. The plug-in P550e Autobiography model, which can only be had with the standard wheelbase, starts at $142,450. The P615 will start at $210,350 and is the only powertrain for the fanciest SV model.
