Meet the all new Lexus NX SUV set to compete against the Q5, X3, RDX, GLC, upcoming Genesis GV70, Cadillac XT4, This new NX rides on the luxury version of the modular TNGA-K platform underpinning the new RAV4, Avalon, Camry, and ES which is again modular meaning it can be stretched and reshaped in all directions. After sitting back and watching the rest of the luxury-subcompact-SUV scene mature over the past few years, the Lexus NX is finally getting back in the game with a modernization of its own.
Design wise, it features styling elements derived from the striking LF-1 Limitless concept which itself will be turned into the upcoming Lexus LQ SUV based on the RWD TNGA-L architecture. Back to the new NX, we can see features like a rear LED light bar morphing into the L shape on the sides, the next generation Spindle grille design, new LED headlights, and an all new body shape with that sculpted Lexus look. Inside is honestly still underwhelming though there is a MASSIVE touchscreen, digital dash, new steering wheel though the general design isn’t too radical compared to other new Lexi.
Lexus will likely offer the 2022 model with two different gasoline-powered engines and also a hybrid. Powertrain-wise, Lexus has acquired the names NX350 and NX450 and we should see a slew of 4 cylinder engines including a plug-in hybrid version making up to 306HP. AWD and FWD will be the driveline options.
The current 2021 Lexus NX starts around ₦14.6 million – ₦18.6 million so expect to see this one have a minor price bump around ₦18 million range!
