The 2022 Honda Civic Si made its premiere last month, powered by a slightly modified version of the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. Despite having five fewer horses, the inexpensive sports vehicle has a slew of other changes that should boost its overall performance. Honda has now announced pricing information for the 2017 Civic Si, which will be available at Honda dealerships later this year.
The Si trim will start at ₦13.6m MSRP plus a ₦507,500 destination charge. There’s also the option of purchasing performance summer tires for ₦100,000, which improve traction and handling. There is only one engine option and one manual six-speed transmission.
A limited-slip differential and sport-tuned suspension are included as standard features. While the new Civic Si has less power than its predecessor, Honda claims that the broader power curves will make the sedan seem livelier in normal driving circumstances. The four-cylinder turbo now achieves peak torque 300 rpm earlier than the previous generation and retains more power between 6,000 and 6,500 rpm. More importantly, the new lighter single-mass flywheel should deliver a more responsive throttle response.

Meanwhile, the six-speed manual gearbox gets 10% faster gear shifts and, for the first time in Civic Si history, a rev-matching technology borrowed from the Civic Type R. As previously stated, the new Civic Si’s lone transmission option is a six-speed three-pedal setup.
A totally retuned suspension is another mechanical update for the new Si. It now has harsher dampers, stiffer springs, stiffer bushings, and thicker anti-roll bars. There are also significant changes to the steering system, which Honda claims will increase the steering feel.
