2021 Volkswagen Cars for sale – Remember in 2018, Volkswagen introduced the redesigned Tiguan, which resulted in a significantly longer body, more interior room, and a third row. With this model still relatively fresh, we expect the 2021 Tiguan to hit showrooms as a carryover model ahead of a major mid-cycle update for the 2022 model year.

Clearly, the 2021 Tiguan is a case study in the ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it approach car design. The changes to the Tiguan’s looks are subtle, to say the least. Although, that’s not entirely surprising given the car was Volkswagen’s biggest seller last year.

Volkswagen has given its compact SUV a handsome styling refresh for 2021 to help it look at home alongside the restyled Atlas and new Atlas Cross Sport mid-size SUVs. New LED headlamps, revised grille and bumpers, and new wheel designs give the 2021 Tiguan a more modern appearance. The Tiguan’s cabin receives updates as well, in the form of a new steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls. Heated seats and a digital gauge display are now standard across the lineup. All models except the base S also receive a new touch-sensitive climate control panel, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and a semi-autonomous driving mode that Volkswagen calls Travel Assist. The Tiguan’s third row of seats will remain an optional feature.

The Tiguan’s interior is classically Volkswagen, which is to say that it is simple and functional but not particularly stylish. Others offer more legroom in the second row, but the Tiguan is one of the only vehicles in the class that can be had with seating for seven.

The Tiguan comes standard with cloth seating and partial power adjustment for the front seats. Opting into more expensive versions can net full power adjustment for the driver, faux-leather seating, and a panoramic sunroof. With just 12 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, the Tiguan simply can’t be a hauling vehicle when the third row is in use.

Volkswagen does say that the diesel should emit less nitrogen oxide (NOx) thanks to them having two catalytic converters, each with its own AdBlue injector. Volkswagen says this ‘twin dosing’ system should significantly lower NOx emissions, which are known to cause poor air quality in high-traffic areas.

Apart from R and hybrid models, Volkswagen is keeping schtum about the rest of the engine options for the moment. So you can expect it won’t differ dramatically from the range of petrol and diesel engines on offer now, with two- and four-wheel drive versions and manual and automatic gearbox options.
