Korean automotive giant Hyundai has released the fifth-generation Hyundai Accent in 2018. In 2020, this new-look subcompact sedan gained an updated power train that shed power but improved fuel economy and gained a continuously variable transmission. Other than these power train updates, the Accent has remained mostly unchanged since 2018. We expect this lack of change to carry into the 2021 Accent. The Accent mainly focuses on providing the best value for money for its owners. After the recent update in the design, it also now falls under the Hyundai’s Fluidic design category as its siblings. Hyundai’s official website hints at the release date of the 2021 Accent set to be around fall. However, the 2021 Hyundai Accent may just be a slightly refreshed version of the same ongoing sedan.
Table of Contents
Visually, we expect the 2021 Hyundai Accent to be virtually identical to the current model. This will include its sedan-only body style with a bold six-sided grille, sporty front apron, scalloped lower door sections, wraparound taillights, and shallow-raked C-pillar and rear glass. This will add up to a relatively sporty look for an entry-level sedan.

Inside, we also expect no changes, though this is one area where the Accent could genuinely use some updating. We expect it to continue with its simple dash with an in-dash-mounted touchscreen, basic HVAC interface, no-frills steering wheel, and simple cloth upholstery. Buyers can move up in trims and gain some extra features, including a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, a sunroof, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, and more, but it’ll still have a dated design.
2021 Hyundai Accent Engine
The new engine and gearbox increase the 2021 fuel economy accent. Combined MPG rating for Accent with a six-eyed manual boost by one. However, IVT saw the most significant gains, adding four MPG to the combined rank for 36 MPG compared to 32 MPG for the 2019 model with a non-update engine and gearbox.
2021 Hyundai Accent Price
The 2021 Accent remains the most affordable Hyundai has to offer. The SE Foundation with the manual will get you back ₦6.4 million, and CVT carries that up to ₦6.7 million. The CELL Trim costs ₦7.2 million, with Top-Trim Limited coming in at ₦7.9 million.
2021 Hyundai Accent Trim | 2021 Hyundai Accent Price in Nigeria | 2021 Hyundai Accent Price in dollar |
---|---|---|
2021 Hyundai Accent SE Sedan Manual | ₦7.7 million | $16,400 |
2021 Hyundai Accent SE Sedan IVT | ₦8.2 million | $17,500 |
2021 Hyundai Accent SEL Sedan IVT | ₦8.8 million | $18,755 |
2021 Hyundai Accent Limited Sedan IVT | ₦9.6 million | $20,505 |
2021 Hyundai Accent Interior
When it comes to the interiors of the 2021 Hyundai Accent, it definitely has received some nice updates that are mostly related to the tech used on the inside. The SLE trim has all the necessary features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Cruise Control, Electric Steering, and 6-way adjustable driver’s seat.
The Output may be down, but the fuel economy rises. On the manual-transmission model SE, the combined fuel economy rose from 31 miles per gallon to 33, but the biggest benefit comes to the equipped CVT model, where the combined economies jumped from 32 MPG to 36. Considering I saw 41 MPG or more on the highway with the manual in the 2018 model, I imagine this would be one seriously frugal combination with Smart stream.
