Meet The New 2021 Corolla Apex Edition

 Toyota is testing the all New 2021 Corolla Apex Edition in the US to see if a limited product would have demand here, GR Corolla is coming soon. Toyota plans to make just 6,000 Apex Editions, each offered in one of three different color options. You have your choice of Cement with a black roof, Super White, also with a black roof, or Black Sand Pearl. Regardless of color, the Apex features a racier aero kit that includes a new front splitter, redesigned fog light covers, sporty body side moldings, a reworked rear bumper, and a trunk-lid spoiler. Toyota blacks out the Apex Edition’s body kit, which also features sweet-looking bronze accents, to further set the model apart from other, less-focused Corollas.

Powering the Corolla is a 2.0L 4 cylinder making 169HP at a hearty 6,600RPM and 151 lb-ft of torque paired to a CVT. If you are lucky, just 120 will be offered with a 6 speed manual.

Believe it or not, there actually are upgrades OTHER than just appearance. Outback is a new sports cat-back exhaust and a. ”track tuned” suspension with lowered springs by .6in and increased spring rates for better handling. There are also tuned shocks, a stabilizer bar, and overall it is 47% stiffer upfront and 33% outback. There are also 18in wheels and even a new steering map.

For sports driving purists who like to “row their own,” Toyota is equipping just 120 of these special models based on the SE grade with the 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (6 iMT). With downshift rev-matching control, the 6-speed intelligent Manual Transmission (6 iMT) automatically adjusts engine revs when changing gears, ensuring smooth shifting that makes any driver feel like a stick-shift pro.

Toyota also enhanced safety for the 2021 Corolla Sedan, adding rear side airbags to bring the total number of airbags in the vehicle to 10. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with Blind Spot Monitor will be standard on the XLE and XSE grades and optional for the LE and LE Hybrid and SE grade with CVT.
