Exterior Design & Style
The Velar design is inspired by the Range Rover Evoque. While the Evoque is in its second generation, the Velar is in its first. The first striking difference anyone would suspect in these two Range Rover models is the exterior design. You get different Powertrain options in the Velar. You can choose between three gas-powered engines: a 247-horsepower 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 that produces 340 horsepower or a 3.0-litre V6 that produces 380 horsepower. Or you can choose the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine with 180 horsepower.
The Velar is equipped with an 8-speed transmission while the Evoque is equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Both the Evoque and Velar have the option to upgrade to AWD.
Features
As far as features are concerned, the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Velar share plenty of similarities. Both vehicles come standard with a rearview camera, Rear Parking Aid, Hill Descent Control, Start/Stop technology, and Cruise Control with Speed limiters. Optional features on both vehicles include a Head-Up Display, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor with Reverse Traffic Detection, and Traffic Sign Recognition.
